When we migrated to jamf connect, we also removed administrator access for security reasons. We understand that this can be less than ideal when attempting to manage your self installed software (like cricut). Fortunately, you can now request temporary admin access to install software. This does not give you free rein of the device, and you are limited on the duration and number of requests. NOTE: This is only available to select users.

Please follow the directions below:

Navigate to the Jamf connect menu bar on the top right of your screen and click Request Admin Privileges:



Once clicked, you will be prompted to MFA using either a text message or Microsoft Authenticator.

After authenticating, a window will pop up asking you to provide a reason for the request. You must select the appropriate reason. Please note: You are given 3 minutes of admin privileges. See the screenshot below.



After selecting a reason, a countdown timer will appear and you will see a dialog window notifying you of the escalated privileges. 



Once you are done with your update or install, feel free to let the timer expire. After expiration, you will be automatically downgraded to a standard user again.
