When signing into YouTube some PASD users are receiving the notice "Your Primary/Secondary (K-12_) School Brand Account is Suspended"

To resolve this issue, please do the following based on the device you are using.

 

Mac Devices

  1. Open Safari (these directions work best using Safari)
  2. Goto youtube.com and sign in with your PASD account
  3. You are prompted with a screen stating "Your Primary/Secondary (K-12_) School Brand Account is Suspended" scroll down to the area of the page "How will my Brand Account be impacted while suspended" and Click YouTube channel switcher link
  4. Click on your Name (not the Brand Account)
  5. Now you need to clear out your Safari's cached YouTube data
  6. In the Menu Bar, click on Safari > Preferences
  7. Click the Privacy tab
  8. Click Manage Website Data...
  9. Search for YouTube
  10. Click on youtube.com to select it
  11. Click Remove, then click Done
  12. Close the Preference window pane
  13. In YouTube's left Navigation, click Settings
  14. Click Advanced Settings
  15. Verify that under account information it states " You don't currently have a channel."
  16. At this point YouTube should be working for you.

 

iOS Devices

  1. Open Safari (these directions work best using Safari)
  2. Goto youtube.com and sign in with your PASD account
  3. You are prompted with a screen stating "Your Primary/Secondary (K-12_) School Brand Account is Suspended" scroll down to the area of the page "How will my Brand Account be impacted while suspended" and Click YouTube channel switcher link
  4. Click on your Name (not the Brand Account)
  5. Now you need to clear out your Safari's cached YouTube data
  6. Open the Settings app
  7. Scroll down to Safari
  8. Touch Advanced, then touch Website Data
  9. In the Search box type Youtube
  10. Swipe on youtube.com from right to left to expose the Delete button
  11. Touch delete
  12. Go back to Safari and sign back into YouTube
  13. If you are prompted with the notice again, click on the YouTube channel switcher link again and touch your Name
  14. At this point YouTube should be working for you.
