Some system save videos in the format avi. In order to play this type of movie on your Mac you will need to install and use VLC. Follow the directions below to install VLC and view your avi movie.

Install VLC

1. Open the Self Service app
2. Click on the category Digital Media
3. Click the Install button associated with VLC
4. Once VLC installs, go ahead and open it. 
5. Now that you have VLC installed and open, go ahead and check for any updates to the software by clicking on VLC in the menu bar and choosing Check for Update...
6. If any updates are found, go ahead and install them.

Play the AVI Movie

1. VLC will have a box that reads Drop File here. Drag the avi move file. or files to the box to add them to your viewing list. The first file should automatically open for viewing.
